After watching an Episode of Jay Leno’s Garage with the representatives of Mercedes Benz Classic Resto Works and showing and driving an iconic Mercedes Benz 300 SL W 194 race version from 1952, I needed to load up our Project Cars 2 Race Simulation and run some laps in one of the Gullwing classic period cars at Le Mans Vintage. It had been awhile since I ran one and was great. Here’s just a quick clip of the winning lap of one of the multi class races in the sim of running the car the won overall in 1952 with Hermann Lang and Fritz Reiss in he Factory Team Car from Project Cars 2 in the Vintage GTD Class…
At Le Mans in 1952, The Mercedes Team brought 3 W194 Gullwing 300 SL race cars. One of the cars went out as the night turned to daylight, but two of the cars continued on to finish 1st and 2nd . The winning car of Hermann Lang and Fritz Riess finished 15 laps ahead of a third place Nash-Healy. This is the #20 car coming into the esses just past the famous Dunlop Bridge.
